Bella’s New Birthday

A lot of people don’t know that Dreams Come True provides a lot more than a child’s dream. With your help, we have provided thousands of Special Times for the children we serve. A Special Time can be anything that brings our kids some extra joy throughout their battle. Special Times include things like tickets to a ball game or concert, a special dinner out with the family, a new birthday party, a prepared Thanksgiving dinner, a fully supplied backpack for the new school year, a golden ticket to Dream Day and so much more! Bella is a 9 year old battling a rare disease called diamond blackfan anemia. For Bella’s “New Birthday” (a term often applied to kids after a bone marrow transplant) we decided this special unicorn needed her very own sanctuary. With some new bedding, decorations, and a new unicorn headband, we turned Bella’s hospital room from drab to rainbows in no time! Happy New Birthday, Bella!

Dreams Come True is Northeast Florida’s only locally based dream granting organization dedicated to using the power of a dream to bring hope and joy to EVERY First Coast child battling a life-threatening illness. Since 1984, Dreams Come True has granted over 4,000 dreams.

Due to COVID-19, several spring fundraising events for Dreams Come True were cancelled and more than 60 dreams postponed. This fall they are expecting record breaking numbers of dreams to fulfill, and they can only do it with OUR help.
