Meet Francoise Thornton - Dreams Come True Ambassador
Since 1984, Dreams Come True has granted dreams to more than 4,000 children battling life-threatening illnesses.
Francoise Thornton was diagnosed with obstructive hydrocephalus, a condition which consists of excessive accumulation of fluid on the brain. In addition, Francoise suffers from extensive craniofacial deformities as the result of encephalocele, which is characterized by sac-like protrusions of the brain and membranes. Due to his condition, Francoise has a feeding tube and a stint in his brain. He will also have to endure several more plastic surgeries on his face and nose.
Francoise and his family traveled to Orlando for Dreams Come True’s most popular dream – Walt Disney World. Disney dreaming is always a favorite because of the many fun activities. Our dreamers get to experience all the theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Universal, Islands of Adventure, and Sea World. From rides to park hopping to a special button that lessen their wait times, dream children are treated as royalty for a week in the most magical place on earth. During their trip, they stayed as special guests at Give Kids The World, a magical village dedicated specifically to dream children and their families. Dreamers enjoy all-you-can-eat ice cream, arcade games that do not require quarters, swimming pool, castle, and visits by the village mayor, who just happens to be a big giant rabbit!
In addition to his dream, Dreams Come True has been able to bring moments of joy to Francoise and his family through various Special Times activities, including sporting events, holiday support, celebrations and participation in the 2019 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Dream Team.
